My journey began as a volunteer guide dog trainer, where I developed a deep understanding of canine behavior and breeding practices. This experience, combined with years of working alongside guide dog breeders, has shaped my approach to raising golden retrievers that excel in both temperament and health.
Each puppy born under my care receives individual attention, early socialisation, and the foundation for a lifetime of companionship. I believe in transparency and excellence, which is why all my breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing that exceeds Kennel Club standards.

I’ve named my golden retriever breeding business Sulis Goldens because we live in Bath, a city with a rich Roman history. The name “Sulis” comes from Sulis Minerva, the Roman goddess who was worshipped at the ancient hot springs here in Bath. I wanted a name that reflects both the beautiful history of where we live and the golden, gentle nature of these amazing dogs.

Bella is truly the epitome of a family companion. With her gorgeous golden coat and warm, bubbly disposition, she greets each day, and every visitor, with an abundance of cuddles and tail wags. Bella’s intelligence shines through in everything she does: she’s quick to learn new tricks, delightfully cheeky when she wants to be, and unfailingly obedient in her training. A true social butterfly, she adores romping with her doggy friends, whether it’s chasing tennis balls in the field or paddling at the seaside. Weekends find her bounding through the rolling Somerset hills and raising pheasants in our woodlands, or diving gleefully into cool waters—activities that keep her fit, happy, and endlessly enthusiastic.

When it came to choosing a stud for our next litter, we set the bar high, and Archie exceeded every expectation. His gentle temperament and family-focused nature mirror Bella’s perfectly, producing puppies with hearts as kind as their parents’. He boasts an impressive lineage with twelve champions, a testament to his quality both in health and conformation. Over the past eighteen months, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Archie on three separate occasions, each time more impressed by his steadiness, playful spirit, and affectionate bond with his devoted owner. Whether he’s lounging at home or playing with after-school children, Archie remains the consummate “big softie”—a beautiful cream-coated gentleman with luxurious long hair.​​
